Home of the Saguaro Cactus
written: 28th February 2004, By Clay

G’day
Crikey
Fair dinkum
Grouse

guess what
we’re in Tucson, Arizona
home of the saguaro cactus
you know? the ones in Roadrunner
Neal and i went for a wander out on the edge of this national park earlier
today
it was magic
its all about red dirt, rocks and cacti, not a blade of grass to be seen
we were spinning out hey
we’ve never seen so many different types of cacti in a natural environment
you’ve gotta walk with your eyes to the ground or you could come unstuck in a
big way
spiky stuff everywhere
so cool
i was awestruck
i wish i could have that vibe in my back yard

Tucson itself is a weird town
it smells funny
we’re staying in this awesome old hotel though
the floor’s all wonky and one of the walls vibrates continuously
ha
classic

last nite we played in Tempe, just outside of Phoenix, Arizona
what a cracker
it was so good
when we got to this crappy little pub we were spewing
it was so far from the action and we had our doubts
but by the time we went on the joint was packed
no one there knew who the hell we were but they went bezerk
they were screaming at us in the middle of our songs and stuff
it was so cool
i think we made some friends
it looks like we’ll be coming back this way
stoked
the scenery, around these parts, alone is worth it.

Anyway guys
just letting you know we’re good
we’re happy and we’re healthy
everything is top notch
we hit the desert tomorrow
ill speak to you when we get to other side
adios
Clay
