The First US gig!
written: 17th February 2004, By Clay

We played our first ever gig in America last nite.
It was in Mason’s hometown, Minneapolis, and it was truly amazing, the venue was a place called the state theatre and it held a sell out crowd of 2200 people.
What a beautiful place to play.
It was near to overwhelming.
It was probably close to 80 years old.
It was a big event, apart from the 2000 people that came in for the show, there was about 20 people on the production crew. We were throwing a footy around downstairs/backstage there was that much room.
I think Mason and the boys were secretly shitting themselves and rightly so, they hadn’t done a gig in 6 weeks or more and they had all the stuff off their new album to play. We, on the other hand, were just having a ball, no probs for us.
We were ready to play some songs to 2000 American folks.
It was wicked.

We’ve played 3 more gigs since then and we’ve covered around 1500 km’s on the road. Every one we meet is so mellow.
Mid West America??
Thumbs up folks.
We’re slowly making our way south out of the snow and into the desert.
Goodbye squirrels and hello roadrunners.

Did i mention that all the folks here have American accents?

Anyway,
Just thought id let you all know that we’re loving it and that i will write to you when we get to Texas, yeeehaaw!!!

Enjoy the last of the warmth for us ok?

ciao,
Clay and those other girls
