The U.s of A God Dammit
written: 13th February 2004, By Clay

G’day
In the words of a good woman, "Holy McFuck," we’re in America!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That’s right kids after all this time waiting and anticipating what could be, we are here, here in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA.
This could possibly be one of the last places on Earth i had ever expected to be and I fucking love it. Its kind of like Melbourne but with snow, its all about art and weather.
I was in this pub called the CC Club the first nite we got here and if it weren’t for the accent i could have been convinced i was in a pub in Newtown or Fitzroy or West End. Oh yeah, they’ve all got American accents, bizarre.
You should see some of the neighbourhoods, snow lining every street, people shovelling the stuff off their front pathway and scraping it off their windows, its really beautiful and its really cold.
Just stepping outside for a cigarette could lead to frostbite of the hand so cold its funny, not funny like ha ha funny, like if you got too pissed and passed out on your way home you’d die!!!!!!!
ha ha

We went to the biggest mall in America today, absurd.
I drove a car on the wrong side of the rode last nite. Scary
I met a girl who is obsessed with Australia and she begged to shake my hand. Different

We look the same
we smell the same
But there’s all these little things that just have us in awe
We keep laughing at everything
From the fucked up traffic conditions
To the shaved organic bison sandwich that i didn’t have for breaky yesterday.

This place is fucken great fun and i wish more of you could be here to share the experience

but don’t worry, ill keep you informed

As the Americans say,
Right on and Later

Ciao
from Clay
