Alright.
I'm writing this from my house the day after our last show of the Australian
album release tour.
There are way too many memories and amazing stories that I hardly know where
to begin.
There's been illness, laughter, blood, smiles, tears, joy, fury, health,
rain, snow, sun, red dirt, city streets, mountain sides, devils, angels,
love, sorrow, new friendships, reunions, jokes, heated debates, driving,
flying, wine, frustration, release, questions, dancing, answers, more
questions, fighting, reconciliation, life, splendour, and music.
Plenty of music.
A huge thank you to CW Stoneking and Lucky Fonz iii.
Two of the most talented, crazy, funny, sweet, absurd human beings I've ever
had the pleasure of coming into contact with.
It was an honour to share the stage with them night after night.
Also to Roger That and Cristopher Ernst for supporting on the last few shows
(and thanks for driving the van back up the coast Chris!) .
The tour wouldn't have been possible without the help of our amazing crew.
The one and only Matty Woo. Afro Dave, Shannon, Amy, Deano, Jake, Richard
Austin and Jeb.
And lastly, everybody that came out to a show.
It has been the best tour I've ever been a part of without doubt.
We've been having so much fun playing music and having you all come on the
journey with us.
Bruce, Paulie and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
We're having a couple of weeks off and then we are playing a couple of shows
with Powderfinger and silverchair before heading off to the desert to make
our next film clip (for Under A Southern Sky).
After that we'll be touring in America supporting State Radio until the end
of the year. The dates will be up soon so, if you're in America, keep your
eyes peeled ![]()
Anyways, I'm about to go surf.
Take care of each other and we'll see you soon.
Grace and Love,
Mat.
